The topics addressed in today’s comic is part of the reason I’m not really active on Deviant Art anymore. I was for a while, particularly in college when I would post most of my assignments there. But after five years I barely got over 10,000 page views, and I was doing mostly original work. Meanwhile guys like Bleedman were getting thousands of millions of hits for their fan comics based off of licensed characters.
I don’t have anything against fan art per se. I’ll produce fan art for anyone who asks and I’m happy to receive it for my own work. But it just kinda bums you out when the people drawing OTHER people’s characters get way more attention than you working on your own.
What REALLY creeps me out is the porn based off Nickelodeon properties. Kim Possible porn is still weird but the character is in her late teens so it could be worse (it’s still a fine line though). I’ve seen porn based off Helga from “Hey Arnold!”. I shudder to think who’s turned on by that.
