A five page comic I did for the MCAD Comic Heads Book. Considering how I wish to transition "OH GOODIE!" from a comic strip to a comic book I did this as kind of a test run to the format. I don't intend to use digital lettering after this, and I need to make the borders less stiff. Other than that this is more a step in the direction I wish to go.
Based off an old Japanese Tengu legend, with a visual style inspired by old Ukiyo-e paintings. I consider this my most visually daring comic yet.
I heart me some zombies, so when I got this script in my second comic arts class I dove right in. Interesting note, because most of the comic art students in this class were manga-influenced (especially the girls), the character tended to look very "bishounen", or "boy pretty". So considering most of the male characters turned into zombies and started eating people later it created a very bizarre visual.
My final project from the second comic art class. A five page comic we had to write and draw ourselves. Encouraged by my instructor to experiment, I wrote a period story about an Irishman trying to find liquor in America during the Prohibition era. Despite being rather proud of the comedic timing of the script, the art didn't come out as good as I'd wanted. I started working on my fundamentals more after this one.
A 12-panel biography I did of the one, the only...Bruce Lee.
A script I was made to adapt from my first comic arts class. I'm not sure of the origin, but I think it was Milk & Cheese. Either way, farcical scripts like this were made for guys like me. I improvised a few jokes in the later pages.
This assignment was to create a two page comic from our earliest memory. Mine just happened to be getting the shit scared out of me from the end of "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade". Aside from visual representations of my parents, I include numerous tributes to the film itself, which to this day is one of my favorites.
