This is also based off a true story, except the real movie in question was even worse: it was the re-release of “E.T. the Extra Terrestrial”. Who gets drunk during “E.T.”?? Honestly!
Speaking of movies, the Oscars have come and gone once again. You know how I feel about the Oscars, but seriously…”The King’s Speech”? Don’t get me wrong, it was far from a bad movie. Geoffrey Rush is one of my favorite actors. But considering the line-up this year, it was SAFE. A lot of the movies nominated this year took great chances and still brought in lots of audiences, and the Academy went with the SAFE choice.
And despite appearing stoned out of his gourde hosting last night, James Franco should have won Best Actor. He literally had to carry a whole movie and he did a fantastic job. Spielberg pretty much called it last night: the pantheon of Oscar Losers is much better than the Winners.
