Even though they’re now considered classics, I’m pretty certain the writing sessions of TOS “Star Trek” episodes like “A Piece Of The Action” or “Plato’s Stepchildren” started out with the producers going “Oh crap, we’re low on budget! What costumes do we have in storage? Gangster outfits? Togas? Write episodes around that!”
